Toronto winter skyline on Nov. 27, 2013 when North America was in deep freeze under the influence of polar vortex. Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield purchased this photo and used it in his book You Are Here: Around the World in 92 minutes (p.148). The image was photographed on the balcony of photographer's home.

Mary, it is for real, except it does not happen often. There must be sufficient moisture in the air. The frost does not stay on the branch for long. Once the sun comes out, the magic disappears. Thanks for liking the image.
